Is Your Roof Damaged?
We Can Tell You:
Hail damage is not always easy to catch. Large hailstones announce themselves loudly, and the damage can be very obvious. But smaller stones wtill cause damage, and the accompanying wind can wreak havoc on your roof system, but leave little evidence. If you even suspect that your roof has been damaged, it is very important that you call us as soon as possible and let us take a look.
Hail Damage
Hail damages your roof in several ways. First, if the stones are large enough, they can literally tear shingles from your roof. Smaller stones will also damage your roof by knocking off the important protection that your granules provide. This will shorten the life expectancy of any roof system, and shingles should be replaced to avoid leaks.
Wind Damage:
When high winds come into our area, we seek shelter and pay little attention to the roof above our heads. Once it is over, we may wander out and look to see if the roof is still there, and if there is no obvious damage, we don't give it another thought. But during a strong windstorm, shingles can be lifted away from one another and this weakens the integrity of the entire roof system. Once the storm passes, the shingles are designed to lay back down, but the adherence may be compromised, and less protection available for the next storm. It is always best to know for sure, so an inspection is definitely warranted.
